About the author:
Mitchell Herschbach earned a PhD in Philosophy & Cognitive Science from UC San Diego, and teaches in the Department of Philosophy at California State University, Northridge. His research focuses on philosophy of mind and the cognitive sciences, particularly the nature of human social cognition. He is beginning a research project on social cognition in autism, and one on the emergence of “pathological demand avoidance” as a diagnostic category in psychiatry.
