Hello, fellow philosophers! Volume 7 of the Journal of Science Fiction and Philosophy just launched!
Continuing with last year’s theme, “The promises and perils of Artificial Intelligence,” in this volume we contrast two different approaches to the future possibilities of AI: the deep, existential questioning of Philip K. Dick against the practical, logical conundrums proposed by Isaac Asimov. Thus, Androids vs. Robots!

In this volume, we welcome our new Book Reviews Editor, James Okapal, from Missouri Western State University. Dr. Okapal is Chair of the Philosophy and Culture Area at the Pop Culture Association National Conference, and Editor of McFarland’s Ethics and Culture Series. Under his leadership, we hope to substantially expand our Book Reviews section — a very needed endeavor, as there has been significant growth in scholarship on science fiction and philosophy in the past few years!
Enjoy, and thank you for your support!
